The International Antimony Association discusses the role of recycling in keeping antimony within material value chains, including lead-related applications. Recycling is a different sourcing route from newly mined feed.
What it means in practice
For a commercial enquiry, recycled origin does not remove the need for a product specification. The buyer still needs composition, lot information and the quality documents required by its process.
Bring it into your next discussion
Describe origin and product quality separately. A recycled feedstock, an alloy and refined metal should not be assumed to represent the same material simply because each contains antimony.
- Identify the actual material being offered.
- Review its measured composition.
- Confirm the buyer’s acceptance requirements.
